We are very pleased to announce that Sue Briggs has joined Montessori St Nicholas as Deputy Chair of the Trustees, bringing to the role her expertise in Early Years’ education.
Sue has had an extensive career of practical experience teaching in Montessori schools and over 20 years’ experience as a Montessori lecturer and practical examiner, teaching practice tutor, placement tutor and Montessori teacher trainer.
She also has a strong educational background and qualifications including an M.A in Early Childhood Studies and gained distinctions in all exams for both Montessori qualifying training courses at Montessori Centre International.
Sue Briggs said: “I’m really excited to be Deputy Chairman in this important year for Montessori St Nicholas as we celebrate 100 years of Montessori education in the UK. As a firm believer in the benefits of a Montessori approach, I am convinced that the valuable life skills acquired by children in a Montessori setting continue to be as relevant today as they ever have been.”

Since moving to Devon five years ago, Sue has combined her experience in education with proactive involvement in community activities and initiatives, including an annual Literary Festival and a Young Arts project involving local schools in writing a series of books and poems.
