Montessori for families event at V&A Museum of Childhood

Montessori St Nicholas charity is delighted to announce it is holding a Montessori for Families Event at the V&A Museum of Childhood, London on Sunday 23rd August 2015. This free Montessori event has become a fixture at the Museum over the past four years.

The Montessori for Families Museum Event offers visiting children and parents the opportunity to access and explore the Montessori approach to learning and understand how it can benefit child development.

Teachers and students from Montessori Centre International, the charity’s Montessori teacher training college, will share fun, creative and useful techniques to apply at home to help children explore learning. Montessori resources will be available for families to experience.

The event at the Museum is part of a wider partnership with Montessori St Nicholas. The charity has funded four Montessori Family Packs for the under 5’s to encourage families to interact with displays and enjoy learning together. The Charity is also funding a free six-week Parenting workshop at the Museum in September 2015.

Montessori Centre International also offers a new online course, Introducing the Montessori Approach. This short course is aimed at parents who want to learn more about the approach and how it supports children’s learning and development.

Stephen Tommis CEO says, We are delighted to be working with the V&A Museum of Childhood. It is a fantastic, childhood-related Museum, servicing families and children in a socially deprived area of London. We want to encourage as many parents as possible, up and down the country, to access the benefits of Montessori with their children.
