The Village Montessori is a small sessional school in Lewisham, south east London. We offer 24 places, with children attending either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons a week. The classroom is open plan supporting vertical grouping of the children, with direct access to the beautiful woodland and vegetable garden. The nursery operates in term time for 38 weeks a year, in line with the local authority term dates. The school is well established, running for 21 years under the current proprietor and has an excellent local reputation.
Since 2006 we have held an “Outstanding” rating with OFSTED and have Montessori Accreditation with MCI since 2009.
We are a small team of 4 staff members, all who are Montessori qualified, and actively involved in all areas of school life. All staff hold equal status and we work in a very happy atmosphere, with a low staff turnover. This post is available due to a non return after maternity leave.
We are looking for someone who is a highly ambitious, sensitive, reliable, dedicated, passionate team player. The applicant must have a sense of fun and a clear command of both oral and written English. Knowledge of the Montessori philosophy, curriculum and EYFS is an essential pre requisite of the job.
We currently require a staff member with energy, enthusiasm and somebody who is prepared to “muck in” with all areas of the classroom.
Applicants will need to hold a relevant Montessori qualification such as an EYE Montessori Diploma (EYE Level 4) or a Montessori Early Years Degree.
A clean DBS check is required, as well as a thorough understanding of all Safeguarding practices.
