Cator Park Montessori Preschool in Beckenham have an exciting opportunity for a Head Teacher (term-time only) to join our friendly and passionate team. We believe in offering our children the best start in life and the Montessori method does just that.

The Headteacher will be responsible for the internal organisation, management and control of the school. They will be supernumerary as this will enable them to run the school effectively from a pedagogical and business perspective. They will be responsible for leading the team of teachers to deliver outstanding teaching following the Montessori method whilst ensuring the business model delivered is sustainable and profitable.

Qualifications

  • A relevant early year’s qualification, this must be a minimum of level 3 (ideally Montessori but not essential)
  • A valid Paediatric first aid certificate is desirable
  • A valid Safeguarding Lead certificate is desirable
  • A valid SENDCO certificate is desirable

Knowledge and Experience

  • Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children aged 2-5 in a Montessori setting
  • Experience of working within and implementing the EYFS statutory framework
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents
  • Have general computer literacy and a range of IT skills
  • Experience of OFSTED inspections or other inspections/legal bodies and their requirements within day care on non-domestic premises
  • Understanding and knowledge of the local community
  • Knowledge of child development and meeting children’s needs
  • Sound knowledge of the Montessori method
