The Gower School, based in Islington London are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Deputy Head of Nursery to lead and inspire our strong team and to help shape the direction of our expanding Accredited Nursery. This is a supernumerary (non-teaching) role and well suited for anyone wanting a challenge and new learning experience in a unique Montessori environment.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week – the nursery is open from 8am to 6pm, 48 weeks of the year. This is a permanent position.

Person specification:

Our ideal candidate will be highly ambitious, sensitive, reliable, dedicated and passionate with a good team spirit and ability to lead, motivate and support the team. You will hold a full and relevant Montessori qualification such as Montessori Diploma Level 4, Montessori Early Years Degree or QTS. However, we will also consider candidates who hold their Level 3 qualification and have previous experience in leading and managing a staff team effectively. Previous experience as a room leader or a deputy head is essential for this role. Strong knowledge of the Montessori philosophy/curriculum and the EYFS would be desirable. Experience within a private day nursery, school or Montessori setting would also be desirable.
