Penny Johns

Director of Learning

Penny has been with Montessori Centre International (MCI) since 2009, leading the College to develop new, nationally recognised qualifications and raise the profile of the quality provision available at MCI. Her commitment to widening participation to Montessori training led to the designation of the Foundation Degree and Cert HE for student finance. To support our international community of learners, Penny played a leading role in the development of our pioneering virtual learning environment. Penny leads the annual Trainer’s Workshop and is committed to promoting Montessori values in facilitating adult learning.

Penny discovered Montessori through her children’s experience of Montessori and went on to train at MCI and work for 5 years in a Montessori setting. Penny holds a Masters Degree and further postgraduate qualifications in Early Years Practice and Teaching & Learning in Higher Education. She was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2016 and is currently leading on new initiatives and course developments as Director of Learning at MCI.
