The Board of Trustees
“If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.” – Chinese Proverb
Governance of MSN falls under the remit of the Board of Trustees. Their powers and responsibilities are defined under the Articles of Association that were revised in September 2015. There is provision for up to 15 trustees on the Board.
The Board meets four times a year as a full board to oversee the work of the charity and related operations. After a recent review in June 2015 of its role and responsibilities it has sought to realign the committee structure with MSN’s activities. This structure consists of:
- Montessori St Nicholas Charity (Chair: Kevin Coyne)
- Finance and General Purposes Committee (Chair: Andrew Ling)
It is planned that these committees will evolve and develop over 2016-17, meeting at regular intervals throughout the year, and constituted to provide direct governance in all core areas of the Charity’s activities.
