Inaugural Leadership Conference

The first ever national Head teachers conference for leaders, owners and managers of MEAB Accredited Montessori schools took place in June at The Institute of Education in London. Over 150 Heads and their deputies listened to a range of excellent speakers on the themes of leadership in schools and in the field of education. Representatives from schools across the UK came together as one body of accredited Montessori schools – all of whom have successfully completed the MEAB process and are recognised as centres of excellence in Montessori practice. The MEAB board sits twice a year, the whole process is subsidised by The Montessori St Nicholas Charity and around 30 schools per year are currently becoming newly accredited and is part of the drive by Montessori to give parents and the public more guidance and information on whether a school using the Montessori name is actually a genuine Montessori school.

A full list of current accredited schools, together with their inspection reports can be found on the Montessori St Nicholas Charity website at www.montessori.org.uk together with a full breakdown of the MEAB evaluation process which was developed in association with The Independent Schools’ Inspectorate and The British Accreditation Council.
