Pioneering Montessori business woman opens further two Montessori pre-schools
Shared vision with Montessori St Nicholas Charity of ‘Montessori on every corner’
Michelle Wisbey, pioneering Montessori business woman has opened a further two pre-schools.
The pre-schools both in Essex, both set in the grounds of state funded primary schools have both achieved ‘Outstanding’ in their first Ofsted inspections. The first pre-school, which is in a classroom at Flitch Green primary school, a modern eco-school in Little Dunmow and the second, which is part of Catholic primary school, St Thomas Moore in Saffron Walden cater for children aged 2 through to 5, and are owned and operated by Mrs Michelle Wisbey. The pre-schools are very much part of the school community and Michelle works very closely with the heads of both schools, Helen Johnson of Flitch Green and Mary Jo Hall of St Thomas More. Both pre-schools have outgrown their current spaces and have recently been awarded a Capital Building Grant from Surestart and Essex Early Years to build new buildings in the grounds of the schools to secure their future.
Michelle also owns and operates two other pre-schools; Westwood Montessori in Thaxted, Essex and Maynard Montessori in Stebbing, Essex which was the second state primary school to adopt Montessori as the method of education for its primary school.
Michelle commented: “I very much share the Montessori St Nicholas charity’s vision of a Montessori school on every corner and for it to become the mainstream method of eduction for our early years and primary-school aged children. I am delighted that I, my team and my schools can play some small part in that vision.”
Philip Bujak, Chief Executive of the Montessori St Nicholas charity said: “We consider Michelle to be a shining light in the Montessori community. We are delighted Michelle has opened these two new pre-schools within the grounds of two more state schools and that they are thriving. We hope that she will go on to open more and thereby bring this amazing method of education to a far wider local community.”
The pre-schools are open from 9.00 – 1.00 pm Monday to Friday and Monday and Wednesday 1.00 – 3.15. For further information please contact Michelle Wisbey on 01371 831902.
