Montessori Centre International, Europes largest teacher training college and the Montessori St Nicholas charity are holding a ceremony at The Institute of Education on Friday 5th December.
The ceremony will celebrate the achievements of Montessori teacher training graduates and current Montessori schools who have passed the new MEAB accreditation scheme. The Montessori accreditation scheme is a new national scheme which offers support and guidance to Montessori schools in order to ensure that Montessori provision is of a high quality. Accreditation looks at a combination of principles & practice, staffing/management and quality issues.
Tana Ramsay, wife of celebrity chef, Gordon, and former Montessori teacher will be presenting the awards. Tana says, My own family has benefited massively from Montessori and I want to raise awareness of what I consider to be the most encouraging and nurturing form of education there is.
Tana recently collaborated with Montessori on a new DVD, Discovering Montessori to raise global awareness and understanding for the worlds largest education movement.
