R7 Southwest & Wales

Pauline Bamford former deputy of the region has taken over from Sandra Harris for the Region 7 Chair role.  Sandra will continue to support Pauline in a deputising role. Pauline is proprietor of Rainbow Montessori School in Winscombe.

Region 7’s spring meeting was set at the beautiful Chagford Montessori in Dartmoor National Park. Members from across the region attended this event hosted by Ruth Beck Mylius. The attendees explored the nursery and were provided with delicious lunch and refreshments. 

The day progressed with an inspirational talk by Sarah Rowledge on Positive Language and Behaviour Management. Language’s effects on how a child feels about himself was the main focus of Sarah’s workshop as she explored the ways language affects children’s behavior. Sarah’s enlightening talk showed how language can let practitioners down. The attendees evaluated and reflected on their own practice and left with much food for thought and vowing to practice the words of wisdom they have learned that day.
