Members of the MSA’s Region 3 gathered at Stanmore Montessori school in Middlesex to discuss the EYFS in Montessori settings. Martin Bradley, National Chairman of the MSA, began the evening with an update about the many projects in which the MSA is currently involved. He reported that the MSA is going from strength to strength and he has seen many developments since he took on the role two years ago.
Barbara Isaacs led a discussion about the EYFS in Montessori settings saying that, through the EYFS, good Montessori practitioners can show that Montessori really works for children and leads to a high quality pre-school education. The guide that she produced with the DCSF is useful for finding common language with people outside Montessori.
She was followed by Dawn Nasser whose school has recently been accredited under the MEAB scheme. Dawn encouraged other schools to apply for accreditation and talked them through the process so show that it was a very positive experience and one that has made her staff an even stronger team.
A very positive meeting that left people feeling very inspired and thanks go to all speakers as well as Rosie Roberts, Regional Chairman for MSA Region 3 and Caroline Monk at Stanmore Montessori for hosting the evening.
