R8 South East

Region 8 held their Autumn meeting at The Old School House Montessori School in Tenterden on 3rd December.  The day provided an opportunity for the new regional chair, Chris Manville, and deputy, Fiona Brissenden (owner of The Old School House) to meet members and discuss a range of issues affecting Montessori nurseries locally and nationally. Not surprisingly, changes to the EYFS, the review of qualifications and training, and the ongoing issue of free entitlement were high on the agenda. Delegates were urged to respond to the various consultations that are currently underway. 
Twenty-five members from across the region attended, and following a delicious lunch, shared a range of songs, poems, stories and other activities linked to festivals and celebrations.

It was agreed that future meetings should be scheduled for the first Saturday after each half-term break.  If you have any ideas for topics or speakers, or if you are able to offer your setting as a venue, please get in touch chris.manville@hotmail.co.uk
