Alison now owns Rooftops Montessori Nursery in Richmond, North Yorkshire having run several Montessori nurseries in Hampshire before her move north. She is currently running a series of infant toddler training weekends which are proving very popular among members of R4.

The region covers a large geographical area and Alison hopes to be able to hold regional meetings in different locations so that everyone has a chance to attend. If you are willing to host such an event at your setting, please contact Alison.

On Saturday 6th March, 20 members met at Thildy Lowe's delightful setting in Sheffield which was ideal for a day exploring Forest Schools. Hazel Canning, from North Yorkshire Forest School Training, helped us gain an understanding of the philosophy and ethos of the system through exploration of a variety of practical activities which included making a Bog Baby and a shelter for the baby, preparing charcoal, whittling wood, building a weaving frame, team games and much more. We were provided with an excellent lunch by Thildy, time was found to explore the nursery and Hazel kindly gave us information sheets to encourage further exploration.
