From 1st April 2009 the MSA will have a new region – Region Eleven - and are delighted to announce that Clare Harris of Phoenix Montessori in Terrington St Clement in Norfolk will be the new Regional Chairman.
The new region will cover the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire which were originally part of the successful Region 9.
With over 3000 schools and individual members in the MSA and more joining every day, creating this new region will give members a better service and make the size of the region more manageable. Members in the East of England will no longer have to travel quite as far to attend their regular regional events.
Since 1985, Clare Harris has been successfully running the Phoenix Montessori Nursery in Terrington St Clement, near King’s Lynn, which has 100 children on the roll. In addition, she has worked as a part-time Registered Nursery Inspector for Ofsted, inspecting some 150 nurseries. More recently, Clare has been appointed an Assessor for the MEAB Accreditation Scheme. She has just become a grandmother for the second time and is very much enjoying watching the development of her two little grandsons.
Clare said, “I have always felt it was vital to provide the highest possible standard of care and education for children during their early years to give them a flying start in life. I am, therefore delighted to have the opportunity to contribute towards the excellent work of the MSA. I look forward to meeting all the members in my region and to encouraging other Montessori nurseries to join.”
Members of the new region can contact Clare on 01553 829 813 or clare@phoenix-montessori.co.uk and she will be in contact with details of the first regional meeting.
