The MSA are pleased to announce that Rachael Campbell has stepped into the role of Chair for the MSA’s Scottish region - Region 1- with her business partner, Pam Barr after a smooth handover from Mairi Clark.
Rachael trained at LMC in 1989 to 1991, completing her NNEB and Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Diploma. Over the last 20 years, Rachael has taken her training to New York, Hong Kong, Kenya, Australia, Edinburgh and Kuwait. Whilst in Kuwait, Rachael worked to complete her Trainers Certificate in delivering the Early Childhood, Teaching Diploma and has been lecturing/training Childcare professionals in Montessori and Early Childhood since. Rachael has also obtained T.E.F.L. (RSA Cambridge), and a Management Diploma.
After many years working for other schools, Rachael joined with Pam Barr in 2006 to open The Edinburgh Montessori in Edinburgh fulfilling a lifelong vision. The nursery is going from strength to strength.
Rachael said “This is a very exciting time in Scotland, in education. There are new frameworks and curriculums in Birth to 3, and 3 – 18 years and this is the time to make sure that Montessori philosophy and education is part of these integrations into a new framework (Early Stage). We are looking forward to making contact with other Montessorians in Scotland, accepting the diversity of our schools and nurseries, and building a support network for each other, throughout Scotland. Hopefully with the support from London, we can move forward with projects which will benefit us all.”
