Workshop Booking Description

General Booking Conditions for Workshops and Examinations

Enrolling on a Workshop
Places are allocated on a first come - first served basis. Each workshop is subject to sufficient numbers applying. Remember to consider a second location in case your first choice is not available. For London, UK workshops please complete and return the registration form in this booklet together with the non-refundable registration fee. For all other locations, please contact your chosen workshop site for information regarding booking and registration.

Language
All workshops are given in English.

Hours of Attendance
Please refer to the appropriate brief workshop descriptions for the hours of attendance.

Students wishing to sit their written examinations are reminded that they must attend all the sessions of any compulsory workshop and they must have completed all their coursework assignments. Please note that examination fees are in addition to Course and Workshop fees.

Accommodation at Workshop
For accommodation arrangements at the various international locations, please contact the respecive Workshop Co-ordinator. MCI London does not arrange accommodation for students. We provide a list of hostels in our information booklet when confirming registration on the workshop. These are within easy reach of the Centre by foot or public transport.

Viability
Please note that any workshop listed will only be held if there are enough participants to make it viable. Too few applicants will make it subject to cancellation. Generally the decision to cancel will be taken six weeks before commencement of a workshop, hence registrations should be sent in well before that date.

Examinations

Practical Examination Eligibility
Any registered Early Childhood Distance Learning Student who has paid the course fees in full and attended all the sessions of the Apparatus workshop may take the Practical Examination following that workshop. The Practical Examination can be taken irrespective of whether all coursework assignments have been completed or not, provided the appropriate examination fee has been paid. However students are recommended to have completed at least five assignments before attending the Apparatus workshop.

Written Examination Eligibility

Completion of all coursework and attendance on the workshop applicable to the course being taken is necessary. (The compulsory workshop for Early Childhood students is the Apparatus workshop). Students must also be in receipt of a 'Permission to Sit Written Examinations' letter issued by the Distance Learning Department at MCI.

Eligible students can attend any appropriate written examination session listed in the schedule. To obtain the exact timings for the examinations.

UK London Workshops

Conditions
Students intending to enrol on any of the London Workshops should complete the booking form found in the London section and send it in with the non-refundable registration fee. This will ensure that a place is reserved on the workshop of their choice, provided that places are still available. The non-refundable registration fee will be deducted from the total workshop fee. The balance of the workshop fee is due 21 days prior to commencement of the workshop. Please note that places can only be guaranteed upon full payment of the workshop fee by the stipulated time. If a workshop becomes over-subscribed, MCI registered students will be given priority.
