The history of Montessori Centre International can be traced back to 1946 when the Montessori St Nicholas Centre was founded to provide teacher training courses in the UK with the help of Maria Montessori herself. She then used it as her London base.

Fast forward to 1998, and the St Nicholas Centre, now an international leader in Montessori teaching, joined forces with London Montessori Centre. This was founded in 1971 by a former lecturer of St Nicholas and had developed into a training centre of excellence in its own right. From the union of these two internationally acclaimed Montessori organizations, Montessori Centre International was born.
