The UK’s leading textile recycler working with schools is now proud to be a corporate partner with Montessori.
Established in 2001, Bag2School now works with over 20,000 schools and nurseries throughout the UK organising bespoke textile collections as a means of fundraising – to date we have now paid out over £12 million.
We believe passionately in promoting a sustainable ‘end of life’ solution for unwanted clothes and shoes. We are part of a government working group looking at the issues of REUSE and RECYCLING of textiles. Our work also involves liaising closely with local authorities throughout the UK in waste reduction programmes and our school education programme helps to increase the awareness amongst pupils and is a useful resource for ECO groups within schools.
The Bag2School textile collection scheme has been described as the most inclusive form of fundraising available to PTAs / Friends of School associations in that it uses a resource that everyone has available. DEFRA, the government’s environment body, estimates that there are 1 million tonnes of unwanted clothing in the ‘national wardrobe’. The Bag2School scheme is an easy to use, free way of unlocking the value of those unwanted items to help raise funds for any special cause or need that a school / nursery is looking to support.
Bag2School aim to be the first choice fundraiser for schools/nurseries and are looking forward to a long relationship with Montessori.
