The workshop explores the fundamental principles of the Montessori approach to children and the way they learn. You can decide with your trainer the areas of learning you wish your school to focus on from: Grace and Courtesy, Practical Life, Sensorial, Maths, Language and Cultural.

Communication Skills Workshop
|
Workshop Outline |
The morning will be spent looking at traditional language use and its neurological effect on children. In the afternoon we will look at numerous ways of rephrasing our language to promote positive behavioural outcomes, differentiating between the unconscious and conscious child. By the end of the day you will have an awareness of how we can change our language use and ways to maintain the positive emotional state of a child necessary for effective learning.

ONTESSSORI SKILLS
Material Making Workshop

Workshop Outline |
During the workshop your staff will be actively involved in making Montessori materials to get your shelves well stocked. You can choose between LANGUAGE, SCIENCE, HISTORY, GEORGRAPHY or ART & CRAFT. When you book this workshop the trainer will liaise with you about what items you and your staff will need to collect to ensure that as much material can be made as possible through the day, there will also be some time during this workshop for some training in the area for which you are making the materials for.

Montessori Record Keeping
|
Workshop Outline |
Delegates will be introduced to a computerised record keeping system that helps to meet Ofsted’s requirements for record-keeping. You will begin the workshop looking at increasing your knowledge of the new Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and ‘Observations’. You will then be shown how observations of a child using the Montessori materials and other activities can be recorded and automatically mapped to the child’s progress with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Guidance will be given as to how to use the software on a day to day basis. Other key features of the software relating to creating reports and planning will also be covered.

Parents Presentation

Presentation Outline |
“What does the Montessori Classroom offer to the child” This is a presentation that one of our team of trainers will deliver to your parents or any outside local agencies you wish to invite in. The presentation explores the fundamental principles of the Montessori approach to children and the way they learn. They will talk about all the areas of learning and learning experiences available to a child in a Montessori Environment. There will also be an opportunity for an open evening.
